ACC to the Rescue!

February 1, 2011

The Alaska Commercial store in Nome helps communities in need!
ACC reacted immediately when asked to help the village of Savoonga when the power went down in the community. Statewide, local charities and the business community sprang into action to help the 160 families.
Ed Cunliffe, grocery manager and his team put seven pallets of water, powdered baby formula and bathroom tissue together and rushed to Bering Air in sub-zero temperatures for the goods to be transported.
ACC discounted the goods, saving the venture over one thousand dollars. ACC is proud to be a strong supporter of community spirit and is committed to its core values of Healthy Living and Education, Culture and Arts, Sports and Recreation and the Environment.
A big thank you goes out to all the organizations that made this community effort possible: Bering Air for transport and ACC Team in Nome for their quick response.
